Color Being Important to LED Grow Lights

When some green hands finally begin to consider equipping their gardens with some grow lights, they may get a little puzzled: now that I have decided to take care of these plants, why should I bother to take the color into consideration? Previously I just leave these plants alone; they are growing not that bad. Now they should be happy that I at least buy some lights, why should I have to do more? Calm down, sir. Be patient, madam. Having done something for your plants means you already regard these plants as your babies or some sort of companions. You can actually keep them in good shape by just doing a little more. It is just a piece of cake.

The reason that buying LED grow lights only is not enough lies in the quality. Lights of different quality plays different role in plant growth. The lights of inferior quality may bring benefits to plant at baby stage; they help them to grow up but do not care about their teenage stage. While lights of superior quality are good babysitters, they will look after these plants till death do them apart.

Blue and red LED grow lights are best among all the babysitters. When the plants are undergoing the necessary process of photosynthesis, these two types of lights help most. Blue is of paramount importance in growing stage, when the seedling are spreading and the stems, branches and leaves are developing. Red is of paramount importance in maturity stage, when plants are producing flowers and bearing fruits. If you want to grow herbs and vegetables only, blue LED should be use exclusively. What’s more, blue lights also serve as the doctor; they can help the plants to fight disease and create a healthy environment for the plants to grow.

Though blue and red lights are powerful, the letter giving out the most energy to build the plants into robust ones, they have to work with lights of other lights sometimes. Thought some other colors can not give out the same energy as red does, they do help in one way or another. The differences are determined by different plants and plants at different growth periods. Sometimes you need to use lights in combination of at least two colors. The suppliers will work this out for you.

However, never fall into the trap to think white and green color lights are the most helpful. White color does not have much needed energy while green light is reflected instead of being absorbed because of the green chlorophyll.
Therefore, be good to your plants. It only takes you a few minutes.
