Halogen lights are a kind of incandescent lamps. The operating principle is to inject into the light bulb with halogen gas such as iodine or bromine. 4, halogen lights are easy to fade and they also come in single colors.

LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a solid semiconductor device, which can directly turn electricity into light.

LED grow lights do much better than Halogen lights in all the above-mentioned aspects.

1, they produce lights making use of the electric field, which causes no radiation. It does no harm to both plants and human beings.
2, they boast a lifespan of 50,000 hours of use, which is more than 7 times longer than that of halogen lights. A longer lifespan means less frequency to replace these lights and in a way, it reduces the cost of replacement.
3, the temperature of LED grow lights can be as low as 70°C., which will not burn the plants as well as your fingers or skin. This can also reduce your cost on buying cooling system, which is often hard to operate.
4, LED grow lights are not easy to fade and they also come in various colors. Different plants need different spectrum light and for one plant in different growth period, the light needed is also different. LED lights are thereby made to meet the requirements of plants.
The only disadvantage you can name of LED grow lights is it is a little expensive to buy. However, high investment, high yields. The initial expenses are easily offset by the later benefits.
